These artists bring such different views about what to do with wood, their visions, and their methods of doing it. I’m blown away by all the different styles and the expertise it takes to create these things.

I love seeing what an artist can do with a piece of wood. I’m in awe of their ability to ‘see’ what they want to do, and then have the expertise to make that wood come to life.

How sleek and elegant this is, capturing the essence of ‘fox-ness’.

And, equally, the ‘cat-ness’ captures my heart right away.
I wish I could tell you the name of the artists on these, but that information wasn’t supplied.

Eric of Hares and Hollows on Etsy offers art prints. In the ‘about’ section it says that his grandparents raised him and both were creatives. His grandmother painted, was a gardener, etc. and his grandfather was a carver of wooden animals. I have no clue whether these prints show his grandfather’s work or not, but I think the prints and the sculptures are amazing.

Carrie L. of Hot Pencel Art on Etsy, says she has been doing pyrography (wood burning) for 20 years. She offers custom pet portraits like these above, plus other things in her shop.
Trying to learn the skill, I’m in awe of her talent. She is a master. I don’t think practicing for 20 years will get ME anywhere near there…

Maybe if I live to be as old as Grandma Moses, I MIGHT be able to imitate some of the techniques and style I’m finding of other artists who do wood burning.
This is the work of Carrie, at HotPencelArt on Etsy. She really brings this to an art form, doesn’t she?

When I grow up, I would love to be able to create anything like these. The detail, and the shading and light on these is mind-blowing to me. I am awe-struck.

When I grow up, I would love to be able to do wood-burning like these two beautiful examples.

These are both done by masters. I’m awestruck.
