“Shaped over time by rivers, waves, currents, and winds, [driftwood gives] us a glimpse into the connection of past and present. It’s all here; Wood and Water, forest and Sea, life and transformation.” – Adrift Collection

Making art with driftwood is the process of breathing new life into washed-ashore wood, sculpting shapes carved by the elements.

Cleveland Chophouse
The best quotes on this craft focus on honoring the natural history of the wood, surrendering to its organic forms, and finding beauty in materials shaped by water and time.

“When I work with driftwood, I never start with a blank canvas. Each piece of driftwood is already a sculpture, created by the caresses of the waves and wind.” – Debra Bernier

Fun Substance
“Every piece of driftwood tells a story. What some people see as fallen wood, I see as hidden treasure waiting to become something meaningful shaped by nature, time, and story.” – Sabrina, Drifted By Nature

Jeffro Uitto
“I have a profound draw to the sea. Years of camping and beachcombing slowly evolved into a fascination with driftwood. So raw, rustic, and surrounded by ocean history—I feel every driftwood piece has its own story.” – Fleurieu Artist

These artists bring such different views about what to do with wood, their visions, and their methods of doing it. I’m blown away by all the different styles and the expertise it takes to create these things.

I’ve shared some of this artist’s fine work quite a while back. I love driftwood art and Jeffro Uitto is a master. I discovered some new pieces to me, plus some furniture that had me drooling.

Jeffro made this box where he keeps his portfolio images.

Hidreley, who posts articles and images on BoredPanda.com on a regular basis, posts things that I love. I’m not sure if you can go to the site and search for articles by him, but I think I’ll go and try it.
I’ve been posting images from one of his articles on driftwood art lately. I just can’t get enough of this. I hope you’re enjoying it, too.

Jeffro Uitto is one of the premier driftwood artists. His skill and imagination seem endless.

I love driftwood art. I particularly love to see the different visions the artists have and create. Vincent Richel creates a ‘frame’ or a ‘scene’ also, with the driftwood, not only the wonderful sculpture itself.

I would love to know who the artist is on this piece. I would really love to see more.
