I am just home from the cafe because it looked like we were in for a heavy rain. Brian just texted me to make sure my windows and balcony door were secure because it looked like we might be in for a squall.

“A squall is a sudden, sharp increase in wind speed that lasts for several minutes, usually accompanied by rain, snow, or thunderstorms. It can also mean a loud, harsh cry, like a screaming baby.”

The sky has a line of really dark clouds now. I have brought in my drying rack off my balcony and secured things as well as possible. We haven’t had one of these since I’ve been here, so I’ll be interested to see what happens.

This is the sketch I finished at the cafe today. I also finished some thank you cards and started a sketch of a squirrel holding an acorn.

We went to visit Harvey this morning. When we walked in, both hands were tied up in big blown up bags. It turns out he was trying to remove his oxygen cannula again, and this was the only way to keep him from doing that. We took one off in order to get the thumb prints we needed for the renewal of his 90-day medical visa, and also to give him an orange drink. When he finished that, I blinked and he was removing the cannula, so we tied his hand back up. I explained to him AGAIN how important it is that he stay on the oxygen. (The low blood oxygen was what caused MY heart to stop twice in February of 2025). I’m not sure if it got through or not, but the bags will make SURE the cannula stays in. Otherwise, he seemed comfortable and was cooperative about doing the thumb prints, so I guess we can call it a good visit, though I felt exhausted and sad when I got home.
