I am finishing up a ‘normal’ Friday here, meaning that I’ve had a really nice day.
The gym was good. I wore my old shoes because it was sprinkling and the forecast was for 100% rain all day long. Since I had JUST gotten my regular tennis shoes dry, I didn’t want to chance it. I take personal credit for it NOT raining on us this morning. If I had been wearing my regular shoes, it would have drowned us again as it did Wednesday.
The Ugly American was not at the gym. I was locked and loaded and ready, so, of course, he didn’t come. My problem now is that I’m afraid if I confront him, I’ll find out that in addition to being an oblivious, rude American, he is NOT visiting, but is LIVING here and I’ll have to put up with him forever. I would rather keep my illusions that he is visiting and will go back home soon as long as I can.

I had a really good, though strenous, massage this morning. Khun Weaw was visiting family at home. Khun Sulee handled my massage. She is very skilled and kind, but she is much rougher with me that Khun Weaw. I feel so good, though, it would be perfect if I had one of the therapists one week and the other therapist the following. I’m just super greatful that there are two ladies there and that K. Sulee will take me when K. Weaw is absent.
Brian and I had a snack after my massage and then we headed for the cafe. I had a good session there, finishing two sketches and starting another.
My place is sparkling from Khun Pom’s care, so I’m one happy camper as I type.

A shout-out to my talented friend Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey who was on a podcast featuring her “Moves” videos, was featuring two songs, and who has lost 2 inches from her waist doing her exercising. You can find her on Substack – @sheilaspiralsister too. KUDOS!

That sounds like you had a very good experience at the gym today. I know you were glad there was Peace again at the gym.
I just love your sketches, especially the butterfly! It is absolutely beautiful. You have already done so much on this Friday, and I’m sitting at my desk on Friday morning waiting to clock in at 7:30, And it is just now 7 AM😆. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day. (Donna)
Thanks for your nice note, Donna. Yes, it was good at the gym without UA. He’s playing mind games with me, though, because I never know if he’ll be there or not. I’m glad you liked the sketches. The butterfly was fun. I had a massage, then a snack with Brian, and then we spent time in the cafe. I had a nice dinner with Brian after and now am getting ready to watch/listen to music on YouTube. A beautiful day. I hope your day goes well, too. Thanks for writing.
What great drawings. Will look Sheila up on Substacks
Thanks.
I’m glad you liked them, Linda. Sheila is an impressive person, but – more importantly – a wonderful lady.
OH!! I am so humbled by your shout out to me, Linda! Thank you so so very MUCH!! The conference is going well and I got a bit of feedback on the premiere of the two songs I created for Gina and the conference presenters. I am always thrilled when people listen to anything NEW because it builds new neural pathways! Woo-hoo!
I am also thrilled with your new butterfly sketch!! Copying that one soon!!
And your taking “personal credit for it NOT raining” is a hoot!! I thoroughly approve!! Love it!!
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Sheila. I was glad to point out some of what you’re doing. You are awesome. I’m glad the conference is going well. Glad you liked the butterfly sketch. Whenever you need it to not rain, just ask me to wear my magic shoes…
p.s. I was told that thing about the bubbles and worries and blowing off our shoulders from a coworker (about 15 years ago), who also “died” yet cane back AFTER experiencing a brain aneurysm!! So yes! That quote is sooo appropriate and true!
Try this experiment, Linda:
See ME there with you in the gym instead of Mr Ugly (or in place of anyone who annoys you)! Let me know how it changes your perspective. Hehe!!
Oh, GREAT suggestion. Not sure I can do it because your voice isn’t NEARLY that loud – or obnoxious, but the mental picture of TRYING may allow me to inject more humor into the situation.
