______________

Harvey got moved back to the nursing home last night. We went to see him today. He is receiving vibration treatments to bring up the phlegm, suction to remove as much as possible, antibiotics, and oxygen. He was uncomfortable with unproductive coughing, but hopefully that will ease more every day as they remove the congestion. He was pretty much unresponsive, exhausted by the stay in the hospital and his condition, and was asleep when we left. He did know we came and squeezed our hands a bit.

The rest of the day has been good. I just came home from the cafe, where I finished three paintings –

I love the way small apartment houses sometimes have three different colors under one roof.

I had a stuffed ‘angel’ with a frog’s ceramic head when we lived in AR. It was one of the many things I had to leave when we moved. I missed her, so this time I painted a male fairy god frog to watch over me.

It rained several times today, but the sun is shining now. Roller coaster weather – challenging to deal with, but I’m learning.

We got the paperwork from the hospital for Harvey’s stay. We’ll copy everything, write a cover letter, include proof of payment, and hope they will cover this and reimburse us.

I love your paintings. That frog picture, I would have on the wall where you sit and paint if that was me.
Sounds difficult right now. But I hope Harvey feels better soon with the treatment.
It sounds like a bit of a mix with the weather.

  2. Glad Harvey is back to his place and you have a life that seems rich and full. Do take care. Blessings to you and your family.

I am glad to hear your Harvey has recovered enough to return to the nursing home. It will just take time for him to recuperate after the medical journey he traveled recently. I am sure you are relieved to have him back at the nursing home.

Your paintings are so pretty. I love elephants and the apartment house with the colors. So interesting.

Take good care of yourself. (Donna)

    • Thanks, Sweet Donna. Yes, it’s a relief to have him out of the hospital and back at the nursing home where things are familiar to him. Hopefully, when we visit on Saturday, he’ll be calm and comfortable.

  4. Oh, this is marvelous news, Linda! Yay for Harvey!! Now, of course they probably don’t use it there, but my favorite herb for a dry unproductive cough is Mullein. I have it in a big bag for tea too, at first sign of anything! It even helped one of our neighbors who has COPD! We were all amazed how much less she coughed (and she had a deep loud scary smokers cough), back when we lived next door in 2020-2021. She’s still living and actually just had pneumonia! I think she will out live me!

Anyway, I LOVE all three of these painted sketches, Linda! Oh. My. Goodness!

    • Wow. What a nice note, Sheila. I’m hoping that Harvey will be much more comfortable Saturday. I’m planning to take him a picture for his Happy Wall.
