Artist Ruby Silvious doesn’t just paint the odd teabag. Last year she embarked on a project entitled ‘363 Days of Tea’. Other than a two-day vacation, this talented lady painted one teabag a day, with the result being a diverse array of styles, techniques, and of course, teabags…

I’ve been distracted lately. My poor brain is going non-stop, during the day and in my dreams at night, thinking about button designs I might create on some solid color tees I have in my art room.
I haven’t gone up to my art room in at least a couple of months due to the huge amount of work I’ve been trying to keep up with outside since spring. My brain is going to push me to spend time now in the afternoons – when you fry like an egg when you step outside – to get started on the fun of diving in and seeing what I can create.
I’ve done a bit of button art in the past, and I’ve learned to have a healthy respect for button artists. Even if you have all the materials needed and he greatest buttons in the world, it does NOT mean you can do anything with them. One tends to look at this nice artwork and think, “I could do that!” You can, and you should, have a lot of fun doing this, but should NOT expect to be able to create anything like what you see in images. If you try it, I would love to compare images and notes. We can get each other excited about new things to try!
