Today is a pretty day here.
The postman delivered a big package that contained a replacement garage door seal this morning, so I guess much of our day will center around trying to get that installed. I am hopeful that this will be a matter of making sure one end is securely in the ‘track’ of the door and then we pull it to the other side. One can HOPE! :0)
I am going out each day to get something done in the yard. I’m pruning, pulling out spent plants, weeding, etc. There is a lot of it and it will take awhile. I also need to check on the area beside my square foot garden and behind the shop to see if the area I finally got weed whacked needs to have more KillzAll sprayed. The list of outside chores is long, but the fact that it will ONLY be 90 this afternoon and the humidity is not oppressive helps a LOT.

“Shoulds”
The weather is nice – the sun is shining and it’s NOT hot enough that you feel slapped in the face the minute you step out the door – but I’m feeling lazy today.
I SHOULD be
- cleaning house
- working in the yard
- catching up on bookkeeping
- exercising
- etc etc etc (This makes me think of the fabulous Yul Brenner in “The King and I”)
Since I am the champion of procrastination, I’m sitting at the computer talking to you and ignoring all the ‘shoulds.’

Sunday 9-12-2021
We’re having nice weather here in Arkansas today. I’m planning to spend some time in the yard again today, pulling out spent plants, trimming, pruning, etc. I’m concentrating on not overdoing it, since the people on TV keep insisting on calling me ‘the elderly’ when they’re talking about Covid and vaccinations. GRRRR!
I would like to remind them –
So we will run an errand or two and then I’ll spend several sessions in the yard today – resting in-between – and see how much good I can do out there. :0)

Conference Call
We had a wonderful time this morning on a conference call with our son, who is all the way across the world from us. The fact that we talk all the time on a chat program, plus every once in a while enjoy a conference call where we can see and talk to him real time, makes me almost forget how far away he is.
One of the things I admire most about him is his independence. He decided what he wanted to do, where he wanted to live, how he wanted to live when he got there, and figured out how to make it happen.
He told me today that his meditation brings him so much happiness it seems to flow out, bringing that happiness to others he sees. He is calm, content with the freelance work he is doing, happy with his rental house in the woods, happy he is becoming proficient in another language, and more.
He wanted to know if we are happy with what he is doing. I told him there are no words to express how proud we are of the kind and generous man he is and how happy we are that he is building the life he wants. (I also told him that I would be happier if I saw the light of love in his eyes again and found someone to share this beautiful life with him. His dad wants rug rats. :0) (I told him I would be happier if he gets married first.)
My heart is full that we are so close, if not geographically. We are so lucky to have him in our lives.
