I discovered The Doodle Lab yesterday and I couldn’t be more impressed. Alexandra Lippert offers customized pet/dog caricatures and I think they’re brilliant.

So full of personality and fun. Her clients seem to be delighted with her work for them.

I don’t draw well. I love finding people who do, wishing I could learn, but knowing that I’ll just have to thoroughly enjoy what others can create. Adding 3-D-ness to the art simply blows my mind. I’m impressed with the ability to convey ‘regular’ perspective in drawings, but making the work leap up off the page is mind-boggling. I found some wonderful examples yesterday –

I’m in awe of this man’s imagination and talent. He sees the spot on the left. I see it, too, but THEN he creates the picture and ‘story’ on the right.

He sees the weed growing at the base of the building, and Nadine finds a friend.
