All Carved Out – Facebook

I really didn’t feel like exercising this morning, but went anyway. I just put the treadmill on 4.1 kph and walked my mile, no incline, just concentrating on the movement. I felt better afterwards – looser and glad I had started my morning well. This afternoon I’ll do yoga stretches before dinner to round things out.
We’re just back from visiting Harvey in the nursing home. This was one of the better visits. He was responsive to what we were telling him and seemed happy to see us. He made absolutely no sense when he was talking to us, but seemed engaged in an idea to build Super Carts in his dad’s shop downtown in Tulsa with a go-cart track built around it. Even though it made no sense, he was engaged in the planning and that was a good thing to see.
I showed him my latest sketches – he thought they were ‘weird.’ 🤪
He did seem interested in the pictures and videos Brian and I took of the street work going on, They are moving humongous concrete “boxes” that house some type of water ‘stuff’ as far as we can tell. They are still breaking up the street in parts, filling in parts with sand in others and then moving the concrete boxes on top of the the sand. It’s interesting to watch, even if we don’t understand what is going on.
I gave Khun Pim, Harvey’s nurse, her Halloween card today. When we were almost home, Brian got some pics on his phone. One was Pim holding up her Halloween card. The others were pics of the doctor visiting Harvey, making his weekly assessment.

No big plans for the day. I’ll go to the cafe in about an hour.

Good morning, Linda. What is 4.1 kph?
Sounds like the visit with your Harvey was good, even if he did not make sense, it must have been good to see him so engaged. I am sure your Halloween cards are received with joy from each person fortunate to receive one. You are so thoughtful. Hope your day was good. (Donna)
4.1 mph stands for kill meters per hour. It equates to 2.5 mph. I walk 30 minutes, so that’s one mile.
The visit was pretty good. The down side is that Harvey is getting his nurse to put through calls to Brian for him. He makes no sense in these, and Brian is trying to work. Today he wanted an iPhone and a pizza on one of the calls and wanted Brian to send a Telex (sp?) for him about the super carts.
The Halloween cards are being well received so far. I’m happy to be bringing some smiles to such nice people.
My day was good, thanks. I hope yours was, too
