My gym time was pretty good because Ugly American guy wasn’t there. I expected him to come in at any time, though, so I was still distracted. I really need to learn to control my concentration better.
Our visit to see Harvey this morning hurt. He was comfortable, but he thought I was his mother, greeting me with, “Hi, Mommie,” and when I told him I loved him before leaving, he said, “You’re a good momma.” In between, he had decided he wanted to get out of bed, so kept trying to swing his legs around, was demanding clothes and shoes, threatening to kick out the side rails of his bed, etc. Not one of our better visits. I try to just go where he is and roll with it, but I didn’t do a very good job today.
I had a really good time at the cafe today, and I really needed it, to dive into my drawing and leave any concerns behind for a while. The nice man who had insisted I take his seat in “my spot” the other day showed up toward the end of my time there. I asked him if he had a minute. I thanked him again for what he did, saying how kind he was, and I told him I had made him a thank you card and gave it to him. He looked at it for a second, looked up and said, “You just made my day.” We wished each other a happy day.

These are the sketches I finished today.

I had a text from Heidi. She’s in Canada visiting her daughter. It was wonderful to hear from her. I almost feel as if I’m traveling with her!

You’re in my thoughts. Have a good day.
Thanks so much, Linda. I appreciate you
Ah, yes! Controlling the focus… I always think, Hocus, Pocus, Focus! When I know I need to shift my focus. I know it sounds easy, and it is!
Also, I know the universe always gives me more of what I think about, so missing him, even the slightest bit, brings him (someone like him) back again! It’s true!
Now, finding Everything Resolves to Gratitude, I give thanks for the experience and send him love, energetically (mentally) and cut the cord of entanglement, so to speak. I know that is getting deep into the WOO, but that’s what I DO! Ha!
I’m so sorry to hear of Harvey’s mental state when you visited. Why it couldn’t have been when he was happy eating pizza, I don’t know.
Yay about Heidi’s text! You see? The yin yang ☯️ balance going on with and FOR you, Linda?
The universe has been busy!
The icing on the cake? The man at the cafe. You are a master of connections my friend/sister! ❤️🙏💙🥳🙌
Thank you for your wonderfully supportive comment, Sheila. Thanks for the woo! Your meme should be “Deep into the WOO, that’s what I do!” From now on.
Yes, Heidi’s text and getting to thank the kind man again , plus time at the cafe offset my sadness about the visit with Harvey today. Thanks.
That was a sad visit with your Harvey. That must be so hard to see him that way, but good that he is not in pain or suffering. Hopefully, the next visit will be better.
I just absolutely love your sketches, especially the one with the flower and butterflies. Great job!
That was a nice exchange with the man at the cafe. There are still such nice people in this world. There are probably some good things about the rude gym man, but it is not evident from his behavior.
Heidi’s text was a good part of your day, and much needed, too.
I hope you were able to enjoy the rest of your day.(Donna)
Thanks so much for your caring note, Donna. I appreciate you. Yes, the text from Heidi and the nice man at the cafe, plus time drawing, offset the sad visit with Harvey. I’m trying to teach myself not to care what else happens as long as Harvey isn’t hurting and seems glad to have company, but sometimes my guard slips and the reactions swamp me. We will see him again Tuesday. Thanks for writing, Sweet Donna.
