“Aria Among the Trees” – AnnaB – @bvornforart.bsky.social

______________

Sorry about not posting yesterday. I was under the weather and slept most of the day, plus all night. I feel much better now. Since my digestion has been an issue, I’m going back to a mostly low carb diet for a bit and see if that does the trick.

We will leave soon to go visit my husband at the nursing home. True to “Finagle’s Law of Dynamic Negatives” (sometimes aka “Murphy’s Law”) I go to VISIT him and he either doesn’t remember me or doesn’t have anything to say to me. Yesterday the staff sent Brian a video of Harvey saying, “I already miss her” when apparently told we were having to delay our visit to today because I wasn’t feeling well.

I didn’t work on anything at all yesterday, so have no paintings to show you. Hopefully, I can finish some I’m working on and show them tomorrow.

Good to be “back” and hope all of you are feeling sassy.

Welcome back. Glad you are feeling better. Such a beautiful picture. (Donna)

  3. Not sure what’s going on but I lost my comment to you earlier from my laptop. WordPress couldn’t log me in! Ugh!

So back to one finger on my phone.

I think I wrote something like:

Isn’t it funny (odd funny not haha funny) that Harvey comes in and out of lucidity or knowledge of you and not. Sometimes he remembers you and maybe lots of things and sometimes nothing from your life together at all! Ugh! It heartbreaking, gut wrenching, etc. for YOU, but not for him because “he doesn’t know / remember what he doesn’t know / remember! Make sense?

I understand it’s difficult for you, sweet friend. Probably more than I can imagine. But thankfully, you share Brian! The guidepost or post in the ground that connects you both and reminds Harvey, “Hey! This is your wife and son”!
I sure hope so anyway. Hugs!

    • Sorry for the hassle in commenting. Thank you for the one finger on your phone. Yes, Brian is our anchor, grounding us, keeping us all going in the same direction, regardless of where we are mentally, physically, and emotionally at any given time. Each visit with Harvey is different. I really am finally learning to focus on HIM, where he is that day, what he wants to talk about (or not) whether he knows us (or not). We make sure he is as comfortable as we can make him. We each hold a hand, turn off the TV if he’ll allow, and go with the flow. He knows SOMEONE is there, and that makes him feel better, and that’s the whole point. Saturday I’ll be taking him the anniversary painting I made for our 57th anniversary. Hopefully, he’ll want it on his wall. Thanks for writing, and thanks for the hugs.

Today, June 11, 2026 is my 58th wedding anniversary. Sometimes it seems like yesterday, and other times it seems like so long ago that we said I do. Congratulations on your anniversary. (Donna)

    • Oh, that’s WONDERFUL!!!!!! Happy anniversary to you and your hubby. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow, again, when I take the painting I did for Harvey’s Happy Wall. Can you see me smiling at you now?
