Happy Mother’s Day!
This is one of the priceless drawings a friend of my family growing up did for us. It’s the same man who drew the picture of me singing at the Dust Bowl that I posted recently. This time his vision of Mother’s Day became a treasure on what we called, “The Thomson Wall” at our home in Tulsa.

___________
My Mother kept a garden,
A garden of the heart.
She planted all the good things
That gave my life its start.
She turned me to the sunshine
And encouraged me to dream.
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rain came,
She protected me enough.
But not too much because she knew
I’d need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
Always taught me right from wrong.
Markers for my pathway
That will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother’s garden.
I am her legacy.
And I hope today she feels the love
Reflected back from me.

Little Hiccups
This morning I’m getting a haircut! To say I’m overdue is an understatement. To be able to shower and simply blow it dry in the mornings again will be wonderful. I’d really like it to stay longer on my forehead, so I’m taking a couple of pics on my phone to show him. Fingers crossed.

Oh these two painted sketches are ADORABLE!! I will save them (but from now on I will save them with a date so I will know how to find them again when it comes to sharing your link to them on my blog)! Ha!
My daughter trimmed my hair for me today too! We went out of town about 30-40 minutes away for Mother’s Day dinner (hust us four adults) and it was fantastic! We had the best meal! I had sushi and sashimi and rarely get it so… yum! There was a Thai restaurant two places down the street I noticed too, so hopefully we can go there someday! I so want to try some of the food you are eating there.
My daughter is still coughing. She just took cough drops to get through whatever this stuff is. Ugh! The granddaughters stayed home and had pizza delivered! They loved that. We stopped and got them ice cream onnour way home and they were thrilled!

What a beautiful celebration!!! I’m so happy for you. Brian and I are still coughing, but getting better each day. Just took my laundry. Got stuck in the elevator, but they fixed the problem almost immediately! Good to know.

You’re very kind, Linda, and I really appreciate the encouragement. My haircut seems pretty short, but I’ll post the pic tomorrow to see what people think.

Thanks so much, Donna. Brian’s cough is still pretty impressive, so we’re opting out of the gym again tomorrow. Hopefully, another few days and we’ll be back to our full routine. I appreciate your encouragement of my drawing. It means a lot.
