We have just returned from visiting my husband at the nursing home. Today was a good visit, in that he was calm, comfortable – except for a sore throat – and made sense most of the time. He was happy to see us today, too. We told the manager about the sore throat as we left, so hopefully they have something that will bring him some relief.
An interesting thing – Harvey had a swath of talcum powder in the middle of his forehead and stripes of talcum powder on each cheek. We’re seeing if we can find out what that means, if anything –
We stopped at the chocolate place on the way home, always a nice part of our outing. Brian has hot chocolate – plus they bring him a tiny cup of hot tea. I always have a cold chocolate drink, and they bring me the tiny cup of hot tea, as well. Brian drinks my tea and we share a little cookie. We talk about our visit and then head home.
I picked up my laundry on the way back and now have it put away. SUCH a nice luxury. My laundry is a bit complicated: I do my undies and other incidentals in my bucket in the sink, then hang them on my drying rack on my balcony. I take Brian my sheets and towels on Fridays because he has a washing machine. I take my regular clothes to the laundry. It works for us.

Brian found a video about the bird WE call the “Fur Real” bird! It turns out its name is a Koel bird. The people in Singapore describe its sound as “uwu” but we can’t figure out where they get that. I’m including a short video on the bird and its sound and you can decide what sound YOU hear…
NOW we’re trying to find out about a bird WE call the ‘woop woop’ bird…

Thank you, Tram. Please don’t be offended that I don’t have the special “a” on my keyboard to write your name correctly. Thank you for writing, and I wish you a wonderful week, too.

I tried typing Tr<3m in lots of different combinations, but couldn't get it right. I guess I'm keyboard-challenged. 😖

I love your latest sketch and I am glad you had a good day with what you did and how things were.
Oh, that bird. I can see why it sounds “Fur Real.” 😁 It wasn’t every call to me. But majority did just sound like “Fur Real.” 😁

Glad to hear you had a good visit with your Harvey. Hopefully, his sore throat will be taken care of soon. I would be curious to find out about the powder on his face, too.
Getting to spend so much time with your son is good for you and for him, as well. It sounds like you are both thriving on your new normal life. I am very happy for you both.
Your sketch is so pretty. You are very talented.
The weather here in Douglasville, Georgia yesterday was 66 degrees when I got up at 4:15 AM to get ready for work, and it was 27 degrees when I got to bed at 9:00 PM. It rained, sleeted and snowed at various times throughout the day. Very strange day, indeed.
Hope all is well with you. (Donna)

Thanks for your caring comments, Donna. I’m glad you liked the sketch. Wow, Douglasville really ran the gamut on weather yesterday. I’m glad to hear you made it through without too many problems. Hopefully, this is Mother Nature’s last gasp of winter for you.

Oh, the spiral in the tail of this painted sketch is calling my name, so I must give it a try!
ha!
Wonderful about Harvey, except for his sore throat. Hope that clears up for him soon!
I keep forgetting to make the hot chocolate I bought a month ago. You have now reminded me. I will make it tomorrow.
Also I meant to tell you, BRAVO on all the new stretching, Linda!
I am doing a new one too, called the dead bug! Ha! I consider getting down on the floor and back up after 10 of those and my yoga / Egoscue “cats and dogs” type exercise, as exercise too! I simply attempt something, now that I know if I don’t, I may not be able to move in five or ten years. Ugh!

Good luck with the spiral tail! When should I show up for the hot chocolate? Thanks for the encouragement on the new stretching. I totally agree that we need to keep trying to move as much as we can, doing whatever is necessary to stay motivated or we won’t be able to do anything down the road.
