Last night I added more exercises with bottles of water as weights. I did enough that I had some sore muscles, so that was good.

Today after looking at a couple of videos (thank you, Sheila) of a lady dancing, I looked up music videos labeled, “dance music,” to encourage me to bop around the room with my headphones on. I lasted three songs on the first video before pooping out, and I had a good time, a smile on my face as the years fell away in my mind.

Just a minute ago, I was truly ‘amazing’ though, as I sprinted toward my balcony to rescue my laundry drying on the rack when it started to pour suddenly. And I mean POUR!!!!! Not just a turning-the-faucet-on rain, but someone using spray attachments!

I had forgotten how quickly this old lady can move, if needed. I managed to get the dry stuff off the rack and onto a chair, and then proceeded to open the balcony folding door fully so I could move the rack of still damp clothes inside. I managed to do that without injury or dumping the clothes and then got the door shut without pinching fingers or causing any other problems.

True to Thailand, while I’m still breathing a bit heavily from all the exertion, the rain has quieted to a calm rain, instead of all the slashing, blowing rain. Thankfully, this rain was slanted differently, so my windows didn’t leak. 😁

Now that I’m up and my heart is ‘awake’ and functioning, I think I’ll do my session of yoga stretches for the day…

  2. Oh my, about the sudden downpour of rain! Glad you got your dry clothing in quickly!
Super glad to hear my dancing video helped inspire you to move more, Linda! I got a picture in my mind of you dancing around your condo. Beautiful!
The water bottles are a great idea! I will try that too! I will add it into one of my videos too!

    • I look at the weather app here every morning, but the only way to keep ahead of things here is to pay attention and be ready to move. I’m drying some of the stuff inside. I used to use weights at home, but I’ve used canned veggies, too. The water bottles are good for me now. I enjoyed bopping around the room today. I love to listen to music. I don’t know why it took me so long to add it to my exercise regimen. I hope you’re finding enjoyable ways to move more, too.

      • Oh, yes, Linda. I have danced for years, but never in a systematic way (as I do now). I started doing a stair climbing routine where I did 3 minutes warm up speed, 20 seconds as fast as I could, then 2 minutes regular speed, but that’s when my left hip started hurting (actually it just got very sore, it wasn’t what I would call pain). So, after that I started dancing again, but for at least 10 minutes straight.
We’ll see! I have lost a few pounds since being sick and doing this dancing, thus I am hopeful!

Wondering if you could get a small portable electric clothes dryer instead of having to rush every time it rains and your clothes are in the balcony? 🤔

    • They don’t “do” clothes dryers here, for some reason. If I had room for something, I would opt for a small clothes washer. The running to beat the rain – at least during the rainy season til November – is a good thing to add to my moving more efforts. :0) By the way, your comment came through to me just fine. It says, “anonymous” but if you’ll put your name at the end of the comment, I’ll be sure to know who’s writing while we try to get to the bottom of the glitch. I appreciate your telling me about it, Susy.
