We need to get special stamps on our visas in order to open a bank account and close on our condo. We are running out of time.
We have decided to travel to do that while Harvey is under the good care of the hospital. We don’t like it, but we don’t have a choice.
Today Harvey’s blood sugar is high and he is delirious. He is unable to follow directions, though he did a good job being fed today.
He couldn’t wake up enough to do a good job on sitting or standing. I don’t think he knows we are here. We are not even moral support.😟
We are now trying to arrange for Brian and I to travel and do the next step on my visa while Harvey is under good care. This way, when He is able to travel, we only have one person to worry about. This will lessen the horrendous stress on Brian.
We saw Harvey delirious a couple of times after Brian came home to take care of us. Both were when he had eaten too much sugar. Brian will try to talk with the doctor before we make more plans.
Oh gosh, that’s so much to do and think about. Hugs!

We’ll work through it. We’re going to talk to the head nurse and hopefully one or two of the doctors about high carb food they’re feeding him, high blood sugar count, and his being delirious and unable to follow commands. Thanks for the hugs. 🤗

Oh, right . I forgot that most hospital food is high carb. But I didn’t know about those there. I know here in the USA hospital food sucks.

We are going to suggest low carb to the lady who comes to feed him. He would happily eat eggs (soft or otherwise) every meal.
They are still giving him nutrient bags via feeding tube, so I’m hopeful they will try the suggestion, with the doc’s okay. It seems stupid to me to give him shots in the stomach to bring down his blood sugar and feed him a high carb diet.

We saw a distinct difference in him after he ate breakfast yesterday. We’ll use that to persuade, also.

You’re so right! It doesn’t make sense.

Brian will make sure he talks to the main nurse, the doctors, and the therapist to tell them of our experience, our observations yesterday, and his inability to understand or follow directions during the physical therapy yesterday. Hopefully communication will be good.
