Happy Wednesday 12-4-2024

Do you realize that Christmas will be here before we know it? As I age, the time whizzes past my head faster and faster. I barely begin the day and it’s gone. Same for the week, month, and year!

I’m spending a lot of time in my art room. I’m having a blast, working on orders from my Etsy site, gathering finished things for orders to mail, making presents for my friends, working on new things to list on my Etsy site, and more. It feels as if I just get started up there and then it’s time to come down and fix lunch, dinner, do errands, etc. I love this time of the year, but I’m a bit concerned that the time is passing SOOOO fast!

ABC News – New York

I was looking at some pictures of lake-effect snow that is happening in some parts of our country now. I’m very thankful I’m not in the middle of that. We would NEVER be able to get down our steep driveway. We would just have to ‘survive’ (hopefully) until the spring thaw…

When we first adopted “Monster Cat,” (aka Jet) I got out a woven ‘bread basket’ and put it on the counter to the left side of my computer monitors so that we could hang out together and she could be comfortable while I worked.

As you can see from the 2nd cat photo above, she sleeps when and wherever she wants to, regardless of my ‘plans.’ I was going to add something to my desk calendar a minute ago, and found her sprawled across the whole thing. I’ve now made my note on a sticky and will transfer it to my calendar when the cat has decided to move on…

Today it may get into the 60s! To celebrate that, I may spend some time this afternoon working in the yard, trying to neaten some things up for the coming winter.

Enjoy your day!

Hi Linda. You are right about time passing so quickly, I think someone is taking time out of my year….I am sure my year was twice as long when I was younger! Seems it is passing even more quickly as we finish up Christmas preparations! So, I thought I would wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas, and a joy filled new year before I realise it is January already.

LOL I think I have friction burns on my face because of the speed of the passing time! I envy you your lovely cold Christmas…I am in Australia, so we cook over Christmas.

        • Sorry about the burns. :0) Christmas is the ONLY day I wish we had snow. I envy you your beautiful country. Where in Australia are you? Thanks for writing, and enjoy the cooking!

Hi Linda, I am on the east coast of Australia, in Brisbane. It gets very hot here in summer, and humid. sometimes up to 80% plus humidity, I have known people who have gone away for a holiday in summer, and when they return the shoes they left at home are mouldy!

            • wow. Fighting the mold sounds like a full time job there. It’s usually quite hot here in Arkansas in the summers, with temperatures at around 110 degrees F. with heat indices higher than that. We were under ‘heat warnings’ most of the summer this year.
