You know, even though this statement is true, what worries me is whether it engenders a sense of regret about the time spent on “nonsense”. Every moment of our lives is a teaching moment; sometimes we don’t even know it, so even the “nonsense” should appreciated for what it is. Just my two cents 🤔

    • You make a good point. What “I” aim for is to live in the moment, whatever that may bring, and do the best I can with it. I’m trying to savor the pleasurable stuff, like when my husband walks over to me out of the blue and hugs me, and let the less pleasant stuff go as soon as I can. If the ‘nonsense’ brought us some joy or changed our lives for the better, we should treasure it. Thanks for your “two cents.” Worth much more than that. :0)

    • When living in the moment, even when we see ‘nonsense,’ we should see it for what it is. If needed, we can react to it, learn from it. If not, we can let it pass.

I think that’s the best way to approach life in general, Linda. And I think your thoughts are at least worth a nickel, thank you!

This, I can get behind. I often muse and ponder in prayer if considering this, have I regrettably squandered time ill-used in this blank slate of life I was given? If yes, am I forgiven? You may think I am being harsh on myself. Perhaps. But how am I to have known this possible wisdom had I not reflected and learned so much about myself and the behaviors of others throughout it all ~ having not been blessed or taught, this wisdom from parents and elders ~ well before fleeing the coup? It is now (or certainly should be) understood that you can have two children that you’ve raised, in the end, having hopefully been raised equally with the same skillset of morays and beliefs ~ can end up so diametrically apposed in terms of their characters? Nothing is fully guaranteed in this life. I’ve been asked if I regretted not having children. After much soul-searching I concluded, no. There is, nor was, ever any guarantee that the experience of having a child in the long run, would have been a well-earned good or rewarding end result. This is a fact. I also would have the variable of the wild card of the other parent. I sadly, ended up in a marriage that would have not supported a wholesome experience for a child that might have been. So, there came the decision that God lead me to this time in my life to conclude the perspective that, the only way to reconcile this is the only goal is to have found Peace with all of it. Stay Safe & Be Blessed. -|-

    • Peace of mind is priceless. Some of it is gained through experience and learning. Some of it is soul-searching. Some acceptance. If you can garner some, it’s a good thing and is to be prized. Thanks for your good wishes. I send you mine.

I really love the thought and feel of this poster. With love (and luck), we end as we started – keeping each other warm, holding on for everything that’s coming (or has gone). The children aren’t going to clamber in bed with us after a bad dream, but we’ll be here if they need us after a rough day/week. Always. And I know beyond this veil lies another shore, where there is no trouble, sorrow, sadness or fear. And we are good, waiting for the day that veil lifts. 🌹

    • I really love it, too. Your personal life slows down and you appreciate the peace. Your priorities shift and you concentrate on communication with those you love and what is really important in life. Thanks very much for writing.
