I’m making 16 pairs of earrings in this batch. They are all made of light weight wood, 4 different shapes. The pic above shows the plain round shape.
4 different color schemes. This is the leaf shape.
Large teardrop shape.
3-D round with hole.
As usual, I grin the whole time I’m playing with the Unicorn Spit Stain/Glaze. This stuff is fun and you never know how things will come out. My favorite part of the process is when I spray the pieces with the polyurethane spray. It ‘sets’ the colors, making them permanent, but the colors simply BLOOM!

Wow! Those are gorgeous!

I didn’t know this paint until I’ve seen your beautiful pieces. I liked this paint/glaze very much and the beautiful effect it had on wood. I contacted their site to ask if this Unicorn Spit Stain/Glaze would work with polymer clay as well. (I could not find any clue online). In the specifications it says it works with wood, metal, glass, plastic and other materials, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you, Linda, for the beautiful inspiration!

Hi, Michelle. I have no clue whether it will work on polymer clay, but I sure would try it. Remember that it isn’t permanent until you seal it with something; an example being polyurethane spray for wood. So, if it didn’t work, you could wash the piece off and use something else. I hope it works for you and I would love it if you would let me know and show us some pics! Have fun!!!

Hello Linda! Thank you for the useful pieces of advice. I think you’re right, the best way to know is to try it. And I like experimenting as well, It’s good to know that you can wash it off if it doesn’t work and also that I need to seal it. I have water-based sealers that I think would work. Now it’s definitely on my list of product to try for the near future. I’ll tell you how it went after I give it a try. Thank you again for the inspiration and for the useful tips! Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Michelle, so far I have used it on wood (plaques and earrings), fabric (tote bags), and paper (posters and note cards). I’m having a blast experimenting with it.

Thank you, Linda! I wish you lots of inspiration for your beautiful work. P.S. After reading everything I could about the Unicorn SPiT, I discovered that for the moment it is not available in Europe (I live in France), so it looks that I have to wait a little bit before I can try it:) But after looking at the reviews and the results that you get using it, I’m sure it won’t take long before suppliers will provide it here as well. Again, have a beautiful and inspired day!

I hope it’s available to you soon, Michelle. I think the woman who created the stuff should become a gazillionaire. She created it to be non-toxic, water based, easy to clean up, and very forgiving because she works with senior citizens and other people in nursing homes and wanted something fun for them to do.
