How do you make the embroidery so dimensional?

Hi, Marissa. I wish I could say I did these beautiful pieces. I have no clue how they made them so dimensional. I think the work is exquisite and wanted to share them.

To make these dimensional you use different types of thread, different # of threads , pad , &/or different embroidery stitches & techniques. See stumpwork or Brazilian embroidery

Oh my gosh…such a beautiful work. I guess the embroidering person got inspired from Brambly Hedge book. It reminds me of that lovely life of little mice living among Brambly Hedge . So natural and awesome…

It has stump work which is wire . The wire elevates parts of the work. A lot is done with a single thread
