A Bit of Progress

I’ve been reading, studying, and trying some new techniques for trying to add better fur and feathers to my drawings. I’m using the book, “Keys to Painting Fur & Feathers” edited by Rachel Rubin Wolf.

I’ve been having lots of fun using a mixed media approach of micro pens, colored pencils, and pastels.

I have a long way to go before my work looks good, but it’s fun to spend time playing.

  1. Nice drawing. I have been meaning to use my new pen and ink set. Its the one with the old fasioned nibs. I find with microns they run dry very fast.

    • Thanks for the encouragement, Shawn. I’m learning and having a GREAT time trying. I AM finding, though, that I’m lazy. I want the EFFECT of fur or feathers without all the work. :0) I hope you do use your pen and ink set, and have a blast doing it.
