I was hoping to find ideas about how to organize my greenhouse on the net. So far, I’ve found pictures that make my mouth water, where people have obviously put more money into the greenhouse than we have in our whole house –
If my mouth will quit watering, I’ll change my search terms and maybe I’ll get some suggestions on good tips for setting up MY greenhouse – not the Taj Mahal! :0)

You found some very beautiful greenhouses here, Linda 🙂
In Denmark, the greenhouses are build in glass and aluminum today. In old times glass and wood. Here in Spain all are made with plastic, so they are able to uncover the soil, when it is needed for the warm weather not to burn the plants. In Denmark, it is rarely so warm, that you burn anything, but anyway, there are greenhouses with windows with automatic openings, when it gets to hot inside. It does happen, when they have summers.

I think they’re gorgeous. Since we can’t afford to heat and cool the greenhouse, and the temperatures in Arkansas are pretty extreme, I’m just going to concentrate on getting seeds started early so I’ll have good transplants (hopefully) for my spring garden.

I do understand that Linda and while you have extreme temperatures, a greenhouse in glass isn’t the best idea for you anyway.

I just wish we could afford heating and cooling so I could use it year round – this from a super-spoiled woman…

Maybe you are spoiled Linda, but it is expensive to have both heating and cooling in greenhouses.
Not so many years ago in Denmark, there were really many gardeners, who had their own greenhouses for business. They are huge and all with glass. In the oil crisis many did need to close their greenhouses, because it was so expensive to warm up. My son was educated greenhouse gardener, but now he is working in another kind of business.

I’m sorry your son had to change businesses. We researched heating and cooling when we were building and decided it was just too expensive to add heating and cooling. I’m delighted that I MIGHT be successful in growing my own transplants to put in my garden this year. :0)

My son changed business, because it was too much factory work and too little taken care of the plants, which was, what he loved to do.
You are doing your best Linda and what more can anyone demand?

I hope your son can find a way to spend good time with plants. Maybe he can have his own nursery one day and teach people how to take care of plants.

Thank you Linda. He loves to work in the garden, but right now, he hasn’t his own garden, but this will come one day again.
