Playing in My Art Room – Friday

Recently I’ve been refurbishing favorite tees by painting them, making button designs on them, or both. I sponge painted white puffball flowers on a brown tee and decided I wasn’t happy with the design and added to it. Today I’ve decided that I want to add some powder blue ‘tops’ to the flowers. Even if the tee ends up in the trash, I’ve had some fun afternoons. I’ll post another pic of it if I decide to keep it. :0)

  1. Well, do not toss it if you do not love it, it can be a gardening shirt, or a shirt to wear when you paint other things !! I am glad you are having fun !!!

I did that years ago to some otherwise nice shirts that had a few stains. That was back when rhinestones and that shiny paint on shirts where the big thing, am I dating myself ? I made a bunch of old t shirts like new again but covering the stains with paint and rhinestones and had a blast doing it It was blingy fun !!!
Today we are taking apart my side of the studio and redoing it, making it more efficient. Taking out the light table for the stained glass for now so I will have a lot more room , and then can give David more room on his side of the studio !!
So, big mess, but it will be so worth it !! I cannot wait !!
David had to run an errand with our oldest daughter, so I tore it all apart while he is gone so I am ready to go !!

    • I’m going to post a picture of it today, Stephie. Tell me what you think. I’m glad you enjoyed doing this type of thing. It’s fun, plus we’re getting more wear from good clothes. I’m glad to hear you’re redoing your studio. Please post pics when you get it reorganized and ready for you and your husband to enjoy.

      • I always love when I can get more wear from something I already have , and make it more fun !!!
I will probably do a big blog post when I am done. I just could not work in here any longer. I am hoping I do all this work and then get to move back in my old studio in six or eight months. The kids are working hard to get out on their own, and it could be up to a year, so at least now I will be able to work in here comfortably. But just in case they are not out soon, at least I will have a much more user friendly studio to work in !! If they are out by the end of the year , then a lot of work for just a few months, but even so, it was a good move, I could not take this room any longer the way it was !! I am finding stuff I forgot I had and that is not good, lol !!!

        • I hope you feel comfortable in the new studio. Changes are hard. You’re such a generous mom, and I know they love you for it. Hopefully, once you’re in your new spot, your creative juices will start flowing and you can have some much-needed fun. Keep me up on your progress, Stephie.
