Very Rainy Sunday 2-11-2024

The forecast is for lots of rain today through tomorrow, but very little, if any snow. I’ll take it. We can just snuggle down and enjoy being warm and dry in our home today.

We will, of course, watch the Super Bowl. I’m hoping for a nail-biting game where we don’t know who the winner will be until the very last. Since we don’t even use the same salt, you KNOW my husband and I are rooting for opposite teams. I’m hoping the Kansas City Chiefs will win. I got caught up with the Kelce brothers last year at the Super Bowl and have followed both, and their mom ever since.

Perversely, if the Chiefs get far ahead, I’ll switch and root for the 49er’s, wanting a really competitive game between the best of the best. I realize this penchant for switching allegiances and sides could get me killed, so I’m only mentioning it to YOU – q u i e t l y. Shhh!

I don’t cook on Super Bowl days. I declare a one-meal-strike every year on this day. I’ll nuke some hot dogs and serve a drink and chips with them. We eat hot dogs very rarely, so this will be a real treat for several reasons. :0)

Have a happy day!

We had quite a storm overnight with LOTS of loud thunder and lightning. a lot of people in Ft. Smith and the surrounding River Valley don’t have power this morning. We were lucky, with no damage that we know of. We have another storm due around noon, and then I think we’re clear.

My good husband mowed the grass right before dinner last night so it looks like someone cares around here. I need to catch up with the weed whacking when things dry out.

We set the triptic (sp?) on the truck when we left to go to town yesterday, measuring how far it was from our driveway to the place we usually turn on Hwy 10 to finish the trip to town. It’s 5.3 miles to get there, going the back way. There’s another back way, where we go down back behind our house and out to HWY 71 South and then back to Greenwood, but that’s even farther. It’s not a huge deal – just a couple of extra miles in the wrong direction – an annoyance until the new bridge is built and open.

Hopefully Restful Sunday

We had a challenging day here yesterday, so I’m hoping for a calm day today. The weather is still rainy and gray, encouraging quiet activities and maybe even a nap!

I had a nice session of yoga yesterday (DAY 134) and I could FEEL some improvement in my ability to stretch into some of my poses. I decided to do my plank pose with 3 attempts, trying to hold each one as long as possible, since I had sore muscles and couldn’t hold for the quick-count-of-45 yesterday. It makes sense to me that several sessions holding the pose should be good for building strength, too.

One Thanksgiving meal and the next day Turkey sandwiches meal have done their worst. Yesterday I got-back-on-the-horse of trying to eat right. Hopefully, the scales will start to notice a difference by the end of next week. Loss to Date: 23 pounds and 26 inches since my heaviest.

Hopefully, this will be a nice day for all of us.
