I absolutely LOVED fingerpainting as a child in school. I would have done it at home all the time, but my mom didn’t want to worry about a possible mess. I still love the FEEL of finger paints – the freedom you have to play and play – squooshing the paint between your fingers, swirling it all around, watching the colors mix, creating something, then wiping it away with a swoosh….
Iris Scott loves fingerpainting, too, but she brings it to an art form. I’m in awe of her talent. She makes me want to play again, even though there is no way in the world I could ever hope to emulate her work.
