I love the way she mixes media in these. She creates a whole story to go with whatever she has made with the stones or pebbles. She paints the background, and maybe even parts of the pebbles – whatever helps create the mood or message. She also uses twine, branches, glass, wood as accents. I think she is a master of pebble art. I just love what she does.

I love the way she combines painting, pebble art, and story-telling. A true artist.

More pebble art from Erzsebet Szilajka – an artist I think does stunning work, combining the pebble art with painting beautiful backgrounds, telling a whole story, rather than ‘simply’ making a nice design.

I’m totally in awe of this woman’s talent. She arranges PEBBLES on a flat space and makes you FEEL. And, not only does she do that, bringing it to an art form, but mixes media, painting details and backgrounds to make each one a true work of art. Mind-boggling.

Szilajka Erzsebet has surpassed making stone art an art form. She tells stories with them. She makes you FEEL – through her work. Truly amazing.

I found a very interesting website a few days ago and wanted to share one of Melissa’s ideas for the garden with you.
It looks like you could use any wide bowl (or I’m planning to make some of these for my birdbath). Put your choice of pretty stones in, paint some different colors, print out words representing things that are important in your life, wishes for the future, etc., and enjoy.
(I will look for marine boat paint, if not for the stone colors, I’ll try to get black for the words.)
If you try it, please let me know how yours comes out. I love this idea.
