I love it that I discover an art form new to me, become captivated, then put it aside for awhile. Then I come back and look at what’s being done again, finding that the art has been taken to a whole new level, with artists thinking not only outside the box, but demolishing the box!

I think these would be wonderful if they were created with paint or clay, but the fact that Calvin Nichols makes these out of paper blows my mind. I wouldn’t have the patience to do all the hair, for example, with a pencil, and yet you can see the individual hair in the fur, plus snow ON the fur. No words are enough.
