“Distance doesn’t dim a strong friendship.”
Nora, one of my long time best friends from Arkansas, sent this to me yesterday. Michael, another long time friend and our hairdresser, reached out via email. A third, Sandi, caught me up on her health and her plans for the spring. Another sent me a message on chat.

I have never had a LOT of friends. I have had a lot of acquaintances, but few close friends; so I feel so lucky that I can now put effort into keeping up with these wonderful people who mean so much to me.
- “A friend believes in you, especially when you don’t.”
Life gets in the way if you let it. You don’t MEAN to let weeks, months, and years pass without catching up, but it happens to all of us. Email and internet card places make it easier to show someone you miss them, you’re thinking of them, etc., but it’s difficult to even make time to do THAT anymore.
I lost one of my long time best ever friends last month. We emailed every day, sometimes more than once, but at least we got to tell each other how very much we meant to each other. I’m trying to make a point of checking on the people I care about, even if it’s just a quick email or chat message, to let them know how much I love them.
Friends in your life are priceless. Please join me in making them the priority that they are.
