Monday

I wanted to sleep a lot later than I did this morning, although I can’t say I got up with the sun. I’m gathering my energy slowly the past few days, getting energetic after lunch, rather than in the morning. I’m not sure why. It’s just different.

My husband thinks we have another raccoon. He just refilled the bird feeders and we’ll see if they’re empty again tomorrow morning. We’ll probably end up setting the humane trap again, trying to catch raccooon #8 of the season.

We’ll leave in a bit to run to the hardware and grocery stores to replenish supplies, get our mail, etc. No big plans for the day. There is the CHANCE that we might get some rain tomorrow or Wednesday, though my husband really likes our grass brown and crunchy, as it is now, so he doesn’t have to mow. I can’t blame him. The Christmas presents I’m painting are coming together now. I’ll work on them more today.

Our son sent us these pics with no explanation this morning. I’m assuming this is a new fruit he’s found. I hope it’s as delicious as it is pretty!

A quiet Monday morning for us. I hope that your day is a pleasant one.

“Washout of a Day?”

Quora

Today is supposed to be a “washout of a day. Heavy rain and lightning will be the main concerns today. Some small hail and gusty winds will be possible in the stronger storms but the threat is low overall.” It’s cool and gray and rainy right now – a great day to take a nap under my throw in my recliner. My husband is sleeping in this morning, and the morning chores are done. Nice and quiet.

I’m hoping to have a burst of energy so I can get the paperwork that is piled up finished, plus get a good start on adding some of my craft products to my page on Amazon Handmade. Adding things is to the page is kind of laborious – hence my needing a burst of energy to get started. :0)

So far I’m very encouraged about my spring garden. I’m glad we drilled lots of drain holes in our 4’x4′ wooden raised bed planters. All is designed to drain well and not get waterlogged. Needless to say, with all the rain we have been getting, delivery of the new sprinklers will just be NICE, rather than NECESSARY. I’ll get some pics to share with you when the rain stops.

I hope that you have a really nice day today.

Lazy

Lazy Days Wallpaper – Fanpop

I was GOING to work in the garden again and do more weed whacking.

We got up early today

  1. to take Molly to the groomer’s, and
  2. to go to my husband’s appointment with the eye doctor

We have his second cataract surgery scheduled for the 16th of this month. His right eye (first surgery) is doing well, except that my husband was admonished for insisting we stop putting in the drops. (We started again when we got home).

I fixed us some lunch and then fell asleep in my chair, waking up just a few minutes ago.

I SHOULD get out and do the weed whacking I wanted to do around the garden, but I’m feeling super-lazy.

I think I’m going to declare this an official working-outside-day-off.

I feel a little bit guilty – but not enough to actually go out and DO anything….
