Worth My Salt Today

Bright Side

This is me after 3 sessions (2 hours) cutting up, pulling out, and hauling off our tomato plants this afternoon. I feel confident in saying I’m worth my salt today.

I got to thinking about that expression, and looked it up. “The expression to be worth one’s salt, which means you’re competent and deserve what you’re earning, is most often said to have its roots in ancient Rome, where soldiers were sometimes paid in salt or given an allowance to purchase it.”

I may have earned my salt today, but right now I’m so pooped I’m not worth spit.  (I seem to be full of cliche’s today.)

I did finish the bulk of what I wanted to accomplish. The sky is darkening now as we come closer to possible severe storms here this evening and throughout the night. I still need to clean up and weed whack around the planters, but that can be done another day.

I was so tired that I went ahead and did my yoga session, stretching out the kinks a bit. I may go in and imitate this kitty.
