I’m a basket freak from waaaay back. I don’t allow myself to go into stores that sell baskets anymore, unless they are totally out of my price range, because I can use ANY excuse – or none – to buy another one. I still find myself drooling and dreaming about adding JUST ONE MORE to my collection.

I love ALL baskets and have become a master at finding reasons I HAVE to have another one in my life. I had to declare a moratorium on gathering more several years ago, lest I become buried. :0)
Nowadays I confine myself to LOOKING and DROOLING over baskets. I found several I think are definitely droolworthy –

I think I’ve admitted to you before that I’m a real basket freak. I can justify why I NEED a basket at the drop of a hat. There is something about the shape and texture of a basket that gets my juices going.
Because of this, I have banned myself from stores which sell baskets, and force myself to only ‘look and drool and dream’ of baskets I see on the net, assuming I could afford to buy half of the ones I would like.
This is a garden basket. Isn’t it WONDERFUL? I already HAVE a Tupperware-type (plastic/rubber) basket that is easily washable (which this one isn’t) but isn’t it beautiful. Sigh.
My juices flow as soon as I see one of these beauties. I can readily think of a thousand ways I could use them, where I would put them, etc. I’ve become a master at ‘how to use baskets,’ and I don’t have a BIT of modesty about it. :0)
I want them ALL.

My husband has learned to help me steer clear of anywhere boxes and baskets are sold. He does point them out at yard sales, though, and for that I’m truly grateful. :0)
I love the creativity I see from basket makers. It seems that there are endless things one can do to make each one different. For example, look closely at the picture below. I’ve never seen the ruffled edges or rings, or braided rims of these. I think they are stunning.

I love baskets and wooden boxes of all kinds. I’ve had to limit myself to simply looking at them – and drooling – staying away from anyplace where I actually might GET one, since I’ve officially declared myself a maniac about these. I can justify ANY number of boxes and baskets, finding endless uses for them. My husband has indulged my love for both, but we DO have to be able to walk through our home… The one above is a bread basket. Can’t you just picture a gorgeous loaf of French bread in this?

Baskets and wooden boxes are my thing. In fact, they’re so MUCH my thing I’ve had to stop going anywhere where either are featured – or at least only when it’s my birthday or something similar.
I can figure out a need for either at the drop of a hat. I would be a wonderful person for basket or box makers to hire to brainstorm about how their products could be used and enjoyed. My list is unending….
