Each of these is special to me because I am transported to a different place, having an emotional reaction to the photo. These are not simply awe-inspiring – they are breathtaking.
“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter… to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life. “ ~ John Burroughs

“If you be my boat I’ll be your sea The depth of pure blue Just to probe curiosity Ebbing and flowing And pushed by a breeze I live to make you free.” – excerpt from “Boats & Birds” poem by Maggie Gunning
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” –Sir John Lubbock

“Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting—over and over announcing your place in the family of things.” –Mary Oliver
I follow Floridiana on Blue Sky. She makes me envious of where she lives and works, but also of her artistry in photography. I look forward to her posts.
I can almost HEAR the wave! And such beautiful color contrast between the water and the sky.
I love to LOOK at snow. I think it’s absolutely beautiful. I like to make snow people or snow animals, make snow angels, have snowball fights.
Ever since we built our home here in Greenwood AR on top of a ridge line with a steep 650′ driveway on the north side of our property, my enthusiasm for winter – driving in it, getting up and down our driveway in one piece, and getting snowed or iced in up here, having to chainsaw our way down the driveway when we are older than dirt – has waned.
I am finding some wonderful photos of the beauty of the season though, from the photographers on X and Blue Sky. I wanted to share them with you.

These are SO good they almost make me forget I really don’t enjoy winter anymore!
My heart fills up and overflows when I see the beautiful photos by talented people on X and Blue Sky Social. I’m delighted to be able to share their gifts to us with you.

Expanding our horizons and visions of the possible.
I feel as if I won the lottery, having joined Blue Sky Social and seeing all the talented photographers who are there. Every day I look forward to seeing new beauties from people I’m already following and discovering new photographers I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing before. What a gift!
