I don’t draw well. I love finding people who do, wishing I could learn, but knowing that I’ll just have to thoroughly enjoy what others can create. Adding 3-D-ness to the art simply blows my mind. I’m impressed with the ability to convey ‘regular’ perspective in drawings, but making the work leap up off the page is mind-boggling. I found some wonderful examples yesterday –

Yesterday I shared Emma Hardy’s sculpture with paper and tape. Today I’m sharing some of her paper mache’ –

Emma Hardy 3D Paper Art -article by Ann Martin
I found a nice article about a paper artist who uses paper and tape to create incredible artwork, plus more in paper mache’. The article was written by Ann Martin, who specializes in quilling. Her website is called, “All Things Paper.” Her article is about the paper artwork of Emma Hardy.

It’s hard to believe that these sculptures are made of paper and tape – even the tree.

Elena’s paper mache’ makes me smile – a wonderful thing, to my mind, in this world of ours these days. What HAPPY art work!

You sent photos of your pet to Denise and agree on details, and she creates a portrait for you from paper. I think these are super creative and quite distinctive.

Besides this being beautiful art, the technique used brings the art of quilling to another level. The more traditional style, which is also beautiful, uses the strips mainly curled up to create the effects, rather than the strips being added on their edges, as Rebekah does. Here’s a nice example –

There is a whole new look achieved by Rebekah when she turns the strips on their edges. I think it’s absolutely amazing.

Emmie creates pet portraits via paper collage. She starts out with a picture you have sent her. She sketches the pet, then gathers bits of magazines. She creates the background first, then creates the pet’s body, finishing up with eyes and nose, capturing the personality of your pet. She includes words in the background of the portrait that mean something particularly to you, such a a pet’s nickname, other pet’s names, the pet’s favorite toy, etc. Also, somewhere in each portrait is a hidden butterfly.
I can’t say enough about this artist. I could look at her work for hours. You’ll see as I share some of it with you –

Ooh and ahh over the portrait itself, then find the special words, and then see if you can find the butterfly. :0)

Remember, these are created with cut up magazine pieces!

I’ve often been impressed by the talent of people. This rates an open mouth, as far as I’m concerned. I’ll share more another time.
