I love gourd art! It seems that the sky is the limit on what one can do with them. I can’t decide if I like the brightly colored and highly varnished ones best, or the ones that combine carving and painting – giving the gourd wonderful texture – or ones that have been completely cut out and then painted. I simply drool when I see the creativity and talent that goes into these!

Tomato Harvest July 24, 2016
These are the tomatoes I picked this morning. I should have picked yesterday because several tomatoes had been found and sampled by birds. It is so hot now (heat index of ONLY 130.8 degrees F today) that the plants are drying up in spite of being on the irrigation system and getting lots of water daily. I’m hoping we get more, but am reminding myself not to get TOO greedy…
