This is David M. Bird. He is the creator of “Becorns” his whole series of characters created by natural materials and then photographed in natural settings with animals to create an entire “world.”
I can’t say enough about his creativity in creating the characters, or his expertise in the photography of the characters in all kinds of different settings.
He offers Prints on paper, canvas, and metal. He also offers calendars and note cards. I love them and wish I could buy the whole collection. They really speak to me!

Revisiting Petr Vaclavek
Petr Vaclavek started making figures from nature with/for his children. They ran out of chestnuts, started using acorns, and a new art form was born.
Petr calls his work “Dubanci” which means “Acorn Elves”
I love the way that his imagination seems endless, his characters carefully crafted, and the photography adds a whole new dimension to it.
He sells his work on Zazzle
He sells all kinds of products with photos of his work on them. You can even create your own greeting cards with his work if you would like. He provides a template!
I miss the feeling his work gives me, and so I revisit from time to time. I’m so pleased that this wonderful, creative father has found such acclaim for his talent – and a whole career!

I can’t say enough about the combination of “becorns” (cute acorn and nature critters that David M. Bird creates,) the situation he makes, and the patience and expertise to get the photo in nature to go with his idea. I think his work is stunningly beautiful.

I really didn’t think that anyone could create work with sticks and nuts that would measure up to Petr Vaclavek of Dubanci.cz and his “Acorn Elves,” but David M. Bird has filled my heart with “Becorns,” cute little folks who interact with nature, allowing David to showcase not only his creativity in making the characters, but also his nature photography, creating works of art that make you FEEL.

Good Thursday 7-21-2022
I have a nice book. We certainly have the heat (105 F. today with a heat index of 110+). All I’m missing is the beach!
I even have a photo of beautiful sandpipers!
Thankfully, we have good air conditioning and only go out if we choose to.
Yesterday was a wonderful afternoon. We ate our lunch and relaxed a bit after errands. I did an early session of yoga, since the wonderful bug spraying guy was coming at 5:30. I then went up and played in my art room, making good progress on the presents I’m making for friends. I finished up there and was coming down, meeting my husband on the stairs. He was coming up to tell me the buy spraying guy was here. He does such a good job for us, although he won’t spray for elephants…
I had a very unusual thing happen. I ordered some new tops recently. (That isn’t unusual, but the result was.) I tried one of them on this morning and they were WAAY TOOO LARGE! This IS unusual! We will take them to the UPS Store today or tomorrow so that I can obtain a refund and then I’ll reorder, ordering two sizes smaller. (I have the feeling this brand runs really large, but it feels really good to have something be too large for me to wear. :0)

Happy Sunday 4-17-2022
Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Happy Sunday!
I wish you a happy day, a happy celebration, a quiet, calm day.
Yet another rainy day here in Arkansas. After today, we’re supposed to have something appear in the sky that lights everything up and warms the air. I’m interested to see what that is. Maybe we can find and plant some tomato plants either Monday or Tuesday!
I have Easter memories swirling.
Fuzzy SOFT pink angora sweater that made me feel very feminine for the first time a hundred years ago. Sweet rabbits my parents got for the family as pets – we named them “Welsh” and “Peter” Rabbit. Dyeing Easter eggs. Hunting for Easter eggs with a big basket. Eating Easter eggs. Then, many years later, Dyeing and Hiding Easter eggs for our son, plus for my students at school where I taught. Beautiful services. Soul-filling songs.
I am hoping for a quiet, calm day today. :0)
