All of a sudden yesterday our power went off. It wasn’t storming. The sun was shining. No power. Our generator is wired to come on automatically when the public power goes off, but it DIDN’T. (It runs everything in the house EXCEPT heat and A/C.)

5 hours later (the public power was back on) but we couldn’t get the generator to work. We went to town, bought a solenoid and installed it. The generator still didn’t work.
This morning we bought another battery. We will wait until after lunch – when the generator is in the shade – to work on it again. Fingers crossed the new battery solves the problem. If not, I’m not sure what comes next.
A few years ago we had a 5 day power outage after a really big storm; I still had three children at home, so was a bit worried about meal prep. Would you believe a so-called friend arrived on my doorstep with her three children, stating “I knew you would know how to manage, so we decided we would come to your place for dinner”!!!!! I had a little single burner gas stove that we used when camping, and I did manage to feed all eight of us, but it was not easy. And, she didn’t even stay to help with the dishes! I am not a fan of power outages!!! lol

I’m sorry you had to go through that. I HOPE you saw the ‘friend’ for what she was and UNfriended her. We all have enough problems without someone like that.
