My husband introduced me to the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. I’m reading this book, which is the 8th in the series. I think there are 6 more.
I love series involving strong women as the central character. Though David Weber is very thorough about describing military details and physics (things I can appreciate only in a vague way and can’t really follow) there is a strong story line and characters you won’t forget. He describes a world and situations that will envelop you and keep you mentally jumping to keep up.

Strong women characters make me proud to even imagine sharing the same world. They act as I wish I were able.
This is a good series that you might like.
